ART & HISTORY
Wellington is home to many national favourites including the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company. Admirers of art and history can also visit the world famous Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa, located on Wellington’s beautiful harbour.
SPORT & FESTIVALS
Wellington hosts several popular annual and biennial festivals and events, including the annual IRB Rugby Sevens tournament, International Arts Festival and the World of Wearable Arts (WoW) show.
Perfectly situated, Wellington rests at the bottom of the North Island, surrounded by beautiful green hills and beaches. There are also plenty of bush walks and walkways to enjoy, no matter what your level of experience may be.
The South Island is just a ferry ride away across the Cook Strait; while the beautiful Wairarapa is less than an hour away by train, making it a popular weekend getaway destination.
