Finding top talent for top managers is what we like best. Our last mailer of 2014 provided a case study on how we delivered on a contract assignment in just five days from start to finish. In this edition we will share some of our secrets on locating extraordinary permanent employees.
The Johnson Group consultants have built strong relationships with clients over many years and because we understand them well, this allows us to engage the services of our ‘Talent Radar’. With this approach we continuously scan the market for star talent to match clients’ most demanding vacancies. (As discussed previously, many of the candidates we place are not actively involved in a job search. Instead they will advise us when they are ready for a move - but only for the ‘right’ role.)
Here’s an example. Late last year we received the referral of a stunning candidate. Once we worked with her to refine her thinking on what her next role might include, we were ready to take the next step. This involved contacting a favoured client who we knew to have a vacancy for a rare skill set. With agreement of both parties, introductions were made.
This is where the magic happened! The client was able to bring this rare resource into his team and the candidate got her dream job. Remarkably this transaction was concluded within four weeks from introduction to job offer, notwithstanding that Christmas and New Year also occurred during this time.
