Recruitment agency and consultant breakfast in New Zealand

This morning Leigh hosted a breakfast for the RSCA with speaker Ross Clennett. The RCSA is the Australiasian recruitment industry body; it has a Code of Ethics for all recruitment consultants, and provides personal development and accreditation for recruiters. Ross Clennett, who visted us recently at The Johnson Group, is a speaker, trainer, writer and coach for the recruitment industry.

One of the most interesting points raised by Ross is the number of New Zealanders who have migrated to Australia to work - the famous "brain drain" effect. There are over half a million New Zealanders currently living long-term in Australia - and a further hundred thousand living and working in the UK and elsewhere.

So how does New Zealand attract its workforce back home? Is it a question of raising salaries or do we have to create new job opportunities, within both the government and commercial sectors? Let us know your thoughts - we're @thejohnsongroup on twitter.
