It seems quite strange that our first official The Johnson Group blog will be at the end of the year, just as we’re about to head out for the holidays. (Not that things have been winding down here by any means—the consultants are still busily checking references and organising interviews.) But I suppose the timing is good, too; it gives me a chance not just to reflect on the year we’ve had, but our plans for the future.
So first, the past.
We’ve had a good year, winning the Best CSR Development Initiative by a Small Business in 2008 at the RCSA CSR Awards. We’ve expanded our team to include a new General Manager, Campbell Hepburn, who’s already become a popular public sector recruitment expert on television and radio news—I really should amend his website profile to include the line, “AS SEEN ON TV”. With Campbell’s arrival, Leigh Johnson, who’s been the face of the business since its inception, has moved into the role of Director, Business Development.
We’ve also got a new senior recruitment consultant, Adrienne Hay, who’s worked in recruitment for an incredible fourteen years, and two new support staff, Pia Penaranda and, well, me. And, as you’ve no doubt noticed, we’ve also got ourselves a new website, created by Conrad of Darnoc, designed by Tim, and with consulting advice from Paul of Engage. Have a look around and let us know what you think!
On to the future, now. Campbell’s big plans for TJG include a stronger focus on career management—whether that means hiring a careers advisor, or putting together a new website with information on policy courses and study areas, we don’t know yet. There’s also some rumblings about increasing the size of the team even further—stay tuned for updates on that front. And we’ll also be developing our web presence… we’ve even got twitter, now….
For jobseekers eager to begin the New Year with a new job, you’ll be happy to know we’re currently recruiting for some roles that’ll start shortly after the New Year, and Leigh’s on the lookout for policy managers in health. Give us a call or email us a resume, and we’ll get back in touch with you as soon as the holidays are over. (For me, that’s January 5th).
Until then, here’s wishing you a very happy holiday period!
