Welcome to the first Newsletter for 2013. It is shaping up to be a busy year here and I trust that your year has already proven to be both productive and successful.

Since the start of the year we’ve been hearing from a number of people, those we already know and those we are meeting for the first time and we are enjoying spending time discussing what is going on for them this year.

Rising to the challenge will pay off in the public sector job market

According to The Johnson Group’s executive director Leigh Johnson, there are still plenty of opportunities in the public sector for candidates who have the right skills – or who are willing to develop them.

I was contacted recently by a journalist wanting comment on the public sector labour market. “So is it true,” he asked me, “that people are being made redundant, then coming back to do their old jobs as contractors?”
